Who We Are

Our Mission.

We are house of prayer that worships Jesus and seeks Him for revival in our city.

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

Isaiah 43:19

Our Story.

For such a long time, Melvina and I have been captivated and inspired by missionary stories and revival history.  We’ve read books and have heard testimonies of how God has moved and transformed cities when people have simply said “yes.”  That’s why on March 8, 2020 Melvina and I stood before the congregation where we were pastoring and announced that God had called us to plant a life-giving church in Highlands County, FL!  To be honest, it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever said because it feels like the biggest thing that we’ve ever trusted God for.  However, after seeking prophetic confirmation, hearing God speak in visions and dreams, and seeking counsel from trusted friends and family, we are confident that this is God’s mandate for our family!

We see God moving through fervent prayer.  As He draws and we gather to call on His name, we know He will “pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground and His Spirit on the coming generations!” (Isaiah 44:3)  It’s the passion of our heart to restore His house as a house of prayer!  We believe that God is now awakening people like never before.  The lost are waking up to their need for salvation, the saved to their need for holiness and destiny, and the church to the desperate need of Spirit empowerment!  We long to gather a people that hear the voice of God which says, “Awake, O sleeper and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:14)  Then, like a sleeping army we AWAKEN!

Our Simple Beliefs

Design

Scripture teaches us that we have been made by God for God. Our purpose is found in belonging to Him and living for Him. He is the only One who deserves worship, so we live our lives for His fame. Our sin has separated us from God and robbed God of the worship He deserves.

Brokenness

Scripture teaches us that we have been made by God for God. Our purpose is found in belonging to Him and living for Him. He is the only One who deserves worship, so we live our lives for His fame. Our sin has separated us from God and robbed God of the worship He deserves.

Jesus

God's love for us is clearly seen in Jesus. His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection from the dead has made a way for us to reconnect with the Father. Jesus Christ claimed to be God and we believe Him. As we put our faith in Jesus and what He did for us, we have eternal life.

Identity

The wonder of the gospel starts with this simple truth - God, who is perfect, loves us, who are far from perfect. We are all spiritually broken, but He has not left us to be spiritual orphans. Our Father in heaven loves us and yearns to bring us close to Him again. His thoughts toward us are good.

Statement of Faith

Scripture

We believe in the inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given and that they are infallibly and uniquely authoritative and free from error of any sort in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13).

Biblical History

We believe in the full historicity and perspicuity of the Biblical record of primeval history.

Creation

We believe in the creation, test and fall of mankind as recorded in Genesis and our subsequent inability to attain to true righteousness on our own (Romans 3:10-18).

God

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

Jesus is Lord

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, the sinless Lamb of God - very God and very man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:16).

Jesus’s Death and Resurrection

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (1 Corinthians 15:14; Romans 4:25).

Christ’s Bodily Ascension

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation, and His personal, literal, and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Water Baptism

We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28;19; Acts 2:37-39; 19:1-6).

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience subsequent to salvation (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and as manifested in the Early Church.

Healing

We believe in the healing of the body by Divine Power, or Divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the Early Church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:1).

Communion

We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord's Supper, for believers (1 Corinthians 11:28-32).

Generosity

We believe in the Tithe (the first ten percent of our income) that belongs to the Lord, offerings that are given willingly, and alms that are given to the poor. We believe generosity is the will of God for every believer and always to be associated with God’s purpose (Deuteronomy 8:18; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15; 1 Timothy 6:17-20).

Eternal Life

We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers (Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15).
